How AI Can Help CA Foundation Students for 2027 Exams

ICAI itself is now teaching AI to CA students. If you are preparing for CA Foundation, this is a good time to learn how AI tools can actually help you study, not just what ICAI is doing.

ICAI Now Has Its Own AI Workshop for Students

ICAI’s Board of Studies runs a two day workshop called AURA, which stands for AI Understanding for Rising Achievers. It is open to CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final students, so you do not need to wait until a later stage to attend.

The workshop covers the basics of AI, how to write good prompts, and how to use AI in accounting, taxation, and auditing. It also has a session on using AI for study planning and mock tests, which is directly useful at the Foundation level.

You can read the official program structure on the ICAI website and check with your regional council or branch for the next batch.

What Is CA GPT

CA GPT is ICAI’s own AI tool, available at ai.icai.org. It is meant to answer questions using ICAI’s own material rather than random information from the internet.

As a Foundation student, you may not use it heavily right away, but it helps to know it exists, since your seniors and teachers will likely refer to it once you reach Inter and Final.

You Do Not Have to Wait for ICAI’s Tool

While CA GPT is still new, free tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are already available to everyone, and they can genuinely help you study if you use them the right way.

Think of these tools as a patient senior who never gets tired of explaining the same topic again. You just need to ask clear questions.

How to Use AI for Each Foundation Subject

For Accounting, you can ask AI to explain a concept like the accounting equation or depreciation with a simple everyday example, then ask it to give you three practice journal entries to solve on your own.

For Business Laws, ask AI to explain a section in plain language first, and only then go back to the actual wording in your study material. This makes the legal language much easier to follow.

For Quantitative Aptitude, ask AI to solve a problem step by step and explain the logic behind each step, instead of just giving you the final answer. This helps you learn the method, not just copy a result.

For Business Economics, ask AI to explain a concept such as demand, supply, or elasticity using a real life example, like how the price of onions or petrol changes. Real examples make abstract ideas stick.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

AI can make mistakes, especially with numbers, section references, and recent amendments. Always cross check anything important against your study material or your teacher.

Use AI to understand a topic faster, not to skip studying it. Reading the explanation once from AI does not replace solving questions yourself.

You cannot and should not use AI during your actual exam. Treat it purely as a study companion at home.

Once you have your basics covered, practicing with real past papers still matters the most. Our CA Foundation RTP collection gives you official ICAI questions for every subject, and our 15 day revision guide can help you plan your final weeks. If you are also checking dates and eligibility, our CA Foundation exam guide covers that too.
