Last Three CA Inter Results at a Glance

These figures come from ICAI’s own press releases for each session. Pass percentage is the share of candidates who appeared and passed.

Session Result declared Group I Group II Both Groups
September 2025 3 November 2025 9.43% 27.14% 10.06%
January 2026 8 March 2026 13.96% 15.54% 9.39%
May 2026 24 June 2026 10.25% 16.11% 8.47%

Candidates Who Appeared and Passed

Session Group I (appeared / passed) Group II (appeared / passed) Both Groups (appeared / passed)
September 2025 93,074 / 8,780 69,768 / 18,938 36,398 / 3,663
January 2026 1,05,526 / 14,733 69,477 / 10,798 41,798 / 3,924
May 2026 91,237 / 9,350 64,381 / 10,372 33,304 / 2,820

What These Numbers Show

Appearing for both groups together has stayed below 10.1% in all three sessions. The lowest was 8.47% in May 2026.

Group II has swung the most, from 27.14% in September 2025 to 15.54% in January 2026 and 16.11% in May 2026. Group I stayed between 9.43% and 13.96%.

What If September 2026 Follows the Same Pattern?

This is an illustration, not a prediction. Each session depends on paper difficulty and evaluation, so the real numbers can land outside this range.

Category Lowest of the three Highest of the three Simple average
Group I 9.43% 13.96% 11.21%
Group II 15.54% 27.14% 19.60%
Both Groups 8.47% 10.06% 9.31%

The averages are our own simple calculation across the three sessions, not weighted by the number of candidates.

Per 1,000 Candidates

If September 2026 sits near the three-session average, about 112 of every 1,000 Group I candidates would pass. That is roughly 196 in Group II and 93 among those who appeared for both groups.

In plain terms, around 8 or 9 out of 10 candidates in each category would not clear it. A result in that range would be normal, not a sign that you did badly.

What to Do After the Result

If You Cleared

Plan your next group or your Final preparation. If you cleared only one group, the other group is the next target.

If You Did Not Clear

Check the marks paper by paper first. Our CA Inter exemption rules guide explains how scoring well in a paper can help you in later attempts.

The next attempt is January 2027. Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 January and Group II is on 8, 10 and 12 January. The exam form opens on 3 November 2026 and the last date without late fee is 16 November 2026. Full details are in our January 2027 exam dates and form guide.

Whichever way the result goes, ICAI’s mock test series for January 2027 starts on November 19. See our CA Inter January 2027 mock test schedule to plan around it.
