The CA Inter January 2027 exams start on 2 January, which is about nine weeks away. Most students know they need to revise, but few have a day by day plan.
CA Harsh Gupta built a free planner that turns your time, hours and study style into a custom revision schedule. This guide shows how to use it and how to run the three round revision method behind it.
Watch the Planner Walkthrough
In this 9 minute video, CA Harsh Gupta explains how the planner works and how to use the plan it gives you.
How Much Time Is Left
These are the January 2027 dates for CA Intermediate. Use them to decide how many months to select in the planner.
| Group | Papers | Exam dates |
|---|---|---|
| Group I | Papers 1, 2 and 3 | 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 |
| Group II | Papers 4, 5 and 6 | 8, 10 and 12 January 2027 |
With about two months left, choose 2 months in the planner. For the full schedule, see our January 2027 exam dates guide.
What the CA Revision Planner Does
The CA Revision Planner is free and gives you a downloadable PDF. It works for Foundation, Inter and Final students. You fill in a few details and press Generate My Study Plan.
| What you choose | Options in the planner |
|---|---|
| CA level | Foundation, Inter or Final |
| Months left for the exam | 1 to 12 months |
| Study hours per day | 4 to 14 hours |
| Exam group | Both groups, Group 1 only or Group 2 only |
| Target revisions | Auto, based on time left, or 1 to 4 revisions |
| Subjects at a time | 1, 2 or 3 subjects, or all subjects together |
You can give the planner your time and let it suggest how many revisions fit. Or you can give it the number of revisions and let it split the time subject by subject.
The Example From the Video
CA Harsh Gupta used a three month example, so your numbers will be smaller. It shows how the plan is built, and the planner adjusts it to your time.
| Setting | Value in the video |
|---|---|
| Months left | 3 months |
| Study hours per day | 10 hours |
| Groups | Both groups together |
| Target revisions | 3 |
| Subjects at a time | 2 |
| Total study time shown | 760 hours |
The plan gave about 38 days for the first revision. In that round, Audit and FM and SM were paired for 14 days. In the second round, Advanced Accounting and Law got 7 days, Tax and Costing 7 days, and Audit and FM and SM 9 days. The third round and final mocks followed.
The planner also suggests subject pairs, and you can change them. If it gives a pair 14 days, you can plan 12 and keep two days spare for a bad day.
The Three Round Revision Method
The plan follows an approach that rankers use. Each round is faster than the last because you solve fewer questions each time.
| Round | What to do |
|---|---|
| Revision 1 | Revise from your faculty’s study material, or ICAI material if you studied from it. Solve questions and mark the ones you want to see again. Write the chapter wise tests, and then one 100 mark mock per subject |
| Revision 2 | Go through all subjects again, and solve only the questions you marked. Filter again and mark what still needs work |
| Revision 3 | Cover all subjects once more with double filtered questions. Keep time for a full mock |
| Final days | Write one more mock test in each subject, if you can |
Why Filtering Matters
You will not have time to solve every question again in round two or three. So mark the important and the weak questions as you go in round one.
A 100 mark mock can come from your faculty, a test series you joined, or the latest ICAI MTP.
Set the Planner for the Next Nine Weeks
These steps take about two minutes. Keep your hours honest, since a plan you cannot follow does not help.
- Select CA Inter as the level and 2 months as the time left
- Choose your daily hours and the group or groups you are writing
- Pick the number of revisions, or let the planner decide on Auto
- Pick how many subjects you want to study at a time
- Click Generate My Study Plan, then download the PDF
- Print it, stick it on your study table, and tick off each target
Add ICAI Mocks and Law Practice
Use ICAI’s own mocks as your test points. See the CA Inter January 2027 mock test schedule for Series I and II dates.
For Law, add the January 2027 Law amendments and practise with the chapter wise tests. If you did not clear in September, read our comeback plan for January 2027 too.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CA Revision Planner free?
Yes. The plan and the PDF download are free.
Is the planner only for CA Inter?
No. You can choose Foundation, Inter or Final in the planner.
How many revisions can I do before January 2027?
It depends on your hours. Leave the target on Auto and the planner suggests a number based on the time you have. You can also set 1 to 4 revisions yourself.
What does filtering questions mean?
It means marking the questions you want to solve again, so later rounds cover only those and not the whole book.
Can I change the subject pairs the planner gives me?
Yes. The pairs are a suggestion, and CA Harsh Gupta says you can change them to suit your own approach.
Should I write mock tests during revision?
Yes. The method adds a 100 mark mock per subject after the first revision, and more mocks at the end.
